This tool made by Sykes Pickavant in the UK is a 4″ 3 legged puller which is Ideal for removing the Female to female coupling on the MT82 gearbox output, We have used this tool here at LOF and had to offer it to our customers!
Unlike other 3 leg pullers, this one has a floating centre, which means when tightened up it clamps the 3 legs together, meaning there is no risk or danger of a leg slipping off and causing injury. Very clever by design!
In its standard state it will not fit inside the Land Rover MT82 adapter casing, the legs could be linished to fit inside the housing to avoid removing it from the gearbox, then again when doing the job properly the housing needs to be removed anyway to replace the gearbox output seal.
