This month we have started testing on a new material for the spigot bush as found in all Defender and Discovery 200tdi, 300tdi and Td5 Engines. The OEM spigot bushes and genuine LUF5000500 are not the most reliable due to the amount of load on the spigot bush.
We have found an engineered solution to prevent a noisey spigot bush, OEM spigot bushes contain a combination of Copper and Tin with very little if any Hydrocarbon Impregnated (Oil). We are now currently testing our new spigot material with independent Land Rover specialists which contains 20% Oil, giving a longer lifespan with less noise!
