The Land Rover TDCI Engine, originally from Ford, was fitted to Defenders from 2007 until 2016. The engine was first made in a 2.4 Litre capacity, and from 2012 Defenders used the 2.2 Litre model. In Europe the TDC is commonly known as the TD4 or Puma Engine. The TDCI Engines installed in the Land Rover Defender were all fitted with a solid mass flywheel from factory. The TDCI engine replaced the TD5 to meet EU Emission regulations. The TDCI was fitted to the Ford MT82 gearbox and Land Rover LT230. LOF clutches make kits for both the 2.4 and 2.2 litre engine standardising one kit to fit both engines.
